To help it capitalise on the current growth in the European electronics sector and to satisfy the ever-increasing requirements of its customers for flexibility, fast turnaround and competitive pricing, Tioga, one of the UK’s leading privately owned contract electronic manufacturers, has invested in two new MY100LX10e pick-and-place machines from MYDATA. This brings the total number of MYDATA pick-and-place machines at Tioga’s Derby manufacturing facility to seven.
Tioga’s new MYDATA machines are both equipped with 16,000 cph hydra heads and linescan cameras, allowing them to handle an exceptionally wide range of components efficiently, including “difficult” micro BGA and BGA devices. The new machines have been set up to work together as a Synergy line with a throughput of up to 32,000 cph. Line-mode configuration has been adopted, which eliminates the need to split programs across the machines.
The new MY100LX10e machines purchased by Tioga are the latest models in the new-generation MY100 range that offers exceptional flexibility and accuracy combined with high throughput. To ensure that it gets the best not only from these machines but also from its other five MYDATA machines, Tioga is also taking advantage of the new MYDATA software rental scheme.
In return for a modest regular monthly payment, this scheme has allowed the company to upgrade the software and hardware on all its existing machines to the latest version of TPSys, which will maximise their productivity and efficiency. The scheme will also ensure that the software on all seven of Tioga’s machines is kept fully up to date for the next three years, with no additional charge.
