To cope with the rapid growth in demand for its groundbreaking products, Siqura, one of Europe’s most successful manufacturers of high-end video surveillance products and systems, has installed a new SMT production line based exclusively on equipment from MYDATA.
The new line comprises two pick-and-place machines that work in combination to maximise throughput and flexibility, plus board handling and conveying systems. MYDATA has also provided Siqura with software that will enable the full potential of the new line for productivity and profit to be realised.
Because of the success of its innovative products, Siqura had recently found that its existing SMT facilities were struggling to cope with demand and were becoming a production bottleneck. In addition, the equipment it was using was incapable of handling the latest components that the company was looking to use in its future designs. The decision was taken, therefore, to invest in a completely new SMT line.
After carrying out an in-depth evaluation of potential suppliers and equipment for the new line, Siqura concluded that MYDATA provided the best match for its requirements, in terms particularly of the flexibility, performance and future-proofing offered by MYDATA machines, and the quality of support provided by the company.
Siqura therefore ordered a two of MYDATA’s latest pick-and-place machines – a MY100LXe14 and an MY100LXe10 – configured to work together as a MYDATA Synergy line offering 256 8mm feeder positions, plus 32 tray positions. The machines can also be used independently, should the need arise.
This configuration provides Siqura with the throughput capability and flexibility needed not only to meet its present day requirements, but also to continue to meet the its requirements as they grow and change well into the future.
MYDATA has also supplied all of the board handling and conveying equipment needed for the new production line, together with a comprehensive suite of software that allows the machines to be programmed rapidly and intuitively. The software also features powerful tools that make it easy to optimise production sequences and changeovers so as to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
